Raise your hand if:
You don't know what to do when things start to go south.
You don't know what to do when the scrap starts with your horse.
If you have been embarrassed that you’re not more skilled or knowledgeable, or your horse doesn’t work better.

Darci Ecker-Popiel, BSC, BED, MPM, CHA E/W
Darci is a long-time rider, competitor, CHA certified English and Western riding instructor, MPM certified coach and high school science teacher. These days, she specializes in educating people about the skills they need to become more resilient by developing their Mental Performance toolkit.
She was a competitive equestrian rider to the upper levels of the sport in Canada and the United States, and long and short listed for the Canadian team. She has coached riders in a variety of horse sports throughout Alberta, Ontario, Quebec and the United States over several decades. She understands the struggle to manage emotions both in everyday practice and in performance.
As a high school educator in alternative, outreach and traditional schools Darci studied psychology and counselling to help struggling students. As she started learning more about the human brain, how we learn, how we can perform better under stress, she realized that these were tool she really could have used as an upper level equestrian athlete.
I’m Janelle, and I’m a Strength & Performance Coach for equestrians.
I’ve had some hard rides. If you’re like me, you’ve started these rides with the best of intentions but before you know it your horse isn’t listening to something you have to say, you’re fighting about getting past the scary rock, and you’re in a dither in your mind and physically your body is all over the place, just trying to stay on top of your horse, who is struggling and having a hard time. I see this same struggle showing up with a lot of my equestrian clients - really struggling both physically and mentally when things get hard.
Thankfully I’ve learned a few tools and tricks along the way to help both myself and my clients make the hard things … not so hard. My goal in this webinar is to provide you with some tools to help you keep your physical body organized when things get hard with information I have learned through riding experience and through my Kinesiology Degree.
It’s not all physical though. One great resource when it comes to the mental side is Darci E-Pops, mental performance coach, and I am very excited to collaborate with her on this webinar - When the Ride Gets Hard.
Good, because I got answers!
