Feeling burned out and unable to perform your best - whether in the saddle or in your day-to-day life?
Does any of this sound familiar?
You feel tight in your body—your neck, your jaw, your shoulders, your butt, or your lower back—no matter what you do.
You’re frustrated because your body just isn’t working the way you want it to.
You’re mentally drained, and the tension just won’t go away, no matter what you try.
Your mind won’t stop running.
You’ve stretched, rolled, done all the tips and tricks you've seen on social media by "experts", and still feel tense
If you said "YES!" to any of these, then this training is for you!
You’ll learn how mental chatter and physical tension are connected, and how one can fuel the other. Not all tension is bad—there’s a zone of optimal function, both mentally and physically, and you'll discover how to find that zone and apply it to your riding.
You’ll also uncover the truth behind common tension-relief methods (like stretching, shopping, or thinking through your problems) and why they might not be as effective as you think.
You'll also learn simple yet effective strategies to manage mental and physical tension, without needing extra time in your day. You’ll gain the tools needed to support your best performance, whether you're riding or going about your daily routine.
By the end of this training, you'll have a better understanding of the real causes of tension and how to manage it for peak performance.

Darci Ecker-Popiel, BSC, BED, MPM, CHA E/W
Darci is a long-time rider, competitor, CHA certified English and Western riding instructor, MPM certified coach and high school science teacher. These days, she specializes in educating people about the skills they need to become more resilient by developing their Mental Performance toolkit.
She was a competitive equestrian rider to the upper levels of the sport in Canada and the United States, and long and short listed for the Canadian team. She has coached riders in a variety of horse sports throughout Alberta, Ontario, Quebec and the United States over several decades. She understands the struggle to manage emotions both in everyday practice and in performance.
As a high school educator in alternative, outreach and traditional schools Darci studied psychology and counselling to help struggling students. As she started learning more about the human brain, how we learn, how we can perform better under stress, she realized that these were tools she really could have used as an upper level equestrian athlete.
I’m Janelle, and I’m a Strength & Performance Coach for equestrians.
I have felt it in myself and I see it in my clients - tension.
It shows up in our bodies from time to time due to a variety of reasons. We discuss these in this webinar replay training!
Darci talks about the mental things that cause tension while we’re riding and what you can do about them. Then I talk about the physical things that can increase tension while we’re riding. It’s really a great conversation because the mind and the body are both so connected. And this matters when it comes to your performance when you ride.
Good, because I've got answers!
